These are multi-headed Mammillaria humboldtii. I happened to find the perfect angle to capture them together with the sunset. The soft golden light falling across the plants made the scene especially memorable.

They grew from tiny offsets and are now over eight years old. That slow transformation is part of the beauty of growing plants: nurturing them step by step, learning through setbacks, and appreciating the specimens that reach maturity.
