This is a field-planted Adenium socotranum. It was planted in the ground at 1 year old and is now 4 years old. Its roots go very deep into the soil, so we cut the roots for shipping. Usually, when the top does not rot, they branch relatively rarely, but this species is also relatively prone to top rot. If the top rots, it will recover by itself, regrowing new shoots from the top. In daily care, you can appropriately behead it to increase the thickness of the caudex.
